Booking.com– Great site that includes vacation rentals, hotels, and B&Bs. Sign up for an account so that you can receive amazing discounts.
Expedia– Great for when booking.com doesn’t have what you want.
Trivago– A good comparison website for hotels, similar to Expedia but usually cheaper.
VRBO– Good for home away from home accommodation like having a kitchen and often cheaper than hotels for long term travel.
Activities and Attractions
Expedia– Find activities, attractions and fun things to do near you or for your next trip in the US.
Get Your Guide– This booking platform helps you find incredible travel experiences wherever you’re headed and purchase tickets to your favorite attractions.
Viator– Connects travelers with tours and activities, with more than 300,000 experiences throughout 200 countries. You can purchase your tickets through this platform as well as read reviews to find the best activities for you.
Cruises
Cruise Critic– Consumer cruise information, including reviews, itineraries, pricing, discounts, and advice.
Expedia– Find the best cruise vacation for you.
Flights
Expedia– Good if you need to book proof of onward travel as they send it right after booking.
WayAway– A flight aggregator that provides travelers with the best rates on airline tickets. They also have a membership which gives cash back on flights, hotels, car rentals, etc.
Transport and Car Hire
Discover Cars– The best place to search for car rentals in any country.
GetTransfer– A booking service for transfers and car rentals with a personal driver at the best prices.
Kiwitaxi– Online booking platform of individual transfer services and private car tours, especially in Europe.
Travel Insurance
Visitors Coverage– Provides travel insurance in over 175 countries.
Travel Gear I Love
BagSmart Compression Packing Cubes– I love the versatility of these packing cubes. The compression feature helps pack more clothes, plus they’re waterproof. The set of 6 also comes with a two-sided drawstring bag.
Camera Gear- I currently use the Canon Rebel T6 with kit lenses and a macro lens. I also use the GoPro 9 for videos and the Google Pixel 8 for photos and videos.
Handheld Portable Mini Fan– If you plan to spend a lot of time outdoors at festivals or attractions, this mini fan helps you stay cool. With an entire day’s worth of battery power on each charge, it’s a must-have. Bonus that it folds into a compact tube to take up less space in your bag.
Hiking Shoes- I started with the Merrell Moab 3 Hiking Boot, which I adore; however, when slogging through knee deep water in Florida, a lighter shoe is often a better choice so I also recommend the Merrell Moab 3 Hiking Shoe.
S’well Water Bottle– When you need your water to stay cold like we often need in Florida, this is the best reusable bottle to use. I often take both of mine with me on a hiking day because nothing tastes better than cold water on a hot Florida day.
Waterfly Hiking Sling Daypack– This is the pack I use when I want to take my DSLR hiking. I can fit a water bottle, phone (in the strap pocket), camera with a lens or two, and small bottles of sunscreen and insect repellant. Lightweight and comfortable.
