Farmers’ markets have always served as informal community gatherings. Places to socialize while shopping and supporting local farmers and artisans. Farmers’ markets in Tampa serve the same role. These ten Tampa farmers’ markets hold a special place in the communities which they serve. They have become weekly or monthly events to look forward to. Besides the usual fare, these markets give patrons something extra, be it history, music, food trucks, or a special air other markets can’t match. Read until the end, too, to see two bonus offerings you won’t want to miss!
1. Hyde Park Fresh Market
Located in the Hyde Park Village in the Tampa neighborhood of Hyde Park, the Fresh Market is a monthly event which features more than 120 vendors in the winter. Summer heat sees that list of vendors decrease to about 80. Stop by the market the first Sunday of each month for an assortment of fresh produce, baked goods, handcrafted goods, plants, and more.
2. Westchase Locale Market
Visiting the quaint Westchase neighborhood? Head over to the Westchase Locale Market at the Westchase Town Center every second Saturday. This market features several vendors who specialize in everything you’ll need for the week – fresh produce, cheeses, baked goods, plants, and handcrafted gifts. This market closes during summer months, running only from September through May.
3. Ybor City Saturday Market
The Ybor market is widely considered one of the best farmers’ markets in Tampa. Located in historic Ybor City at Centennial Park, patrons know this market for the wide variety of goods for sale. Besides the norm, vendors also sell prepared foods, jewelry, and pet items. Live music mingles at the market every Saturday, even in the summer.
4. Saturday Morning Market, St. Pete
The Saturday Morning Market in St. Petersburg has been called one of the best farmers’ markets in Florida, and one of the top twenty markets in the United States. It’s also the largest farmers’ market in the Southeastern US. A close-knit community of over 125 vendors and their customers gather every Saturday to offer all the regular stuff plus prepared foods from several different countries and live music. In the winter the larger market sets up at Al Lang Stadium; in the summer it moves to Williams Park.
5. Fresh Market at Wiregrass
The Fresh Market at Wiregrass takes advantage of Wesley Chapel’s Shoppes at Wiregrass twice a month. The Shoppes are an indoor/outdoor shopping venue with palm-lined walkways and plaza, a beautiful setting for a Saturday morning. Over 60 vendors gather to sell produce, clothing, CBD products, baked goods, and handcrafted items. Ready-to-eat foods and live music provide the perfect accompaniments to shopping.
6. Sunshine Market at Midtown Tampa
Every fourth Saturday shop from over 40 vendors at Midtown Commons. Live music kicks off at 10 AM in the greens to entertain patrons while they shop for produce and baked goods, jewelry and art, plants and other local products. Like most of the other farmers’ markets in Tampa, the Sunshine Market is dog-friendly. If your Saturday mornings are made for sleeping, check out the Sunset Market at Midtown held the first Thursday of every month.
7. Dunedin Downtown Market
Find the Dunedin Downtown Market under the oaks at Pioneer Park. Live music drifts from the stage at one end of the park, bathing shoppers in the soft sounds of acoustic guitars. This weekly market draws people from all over the Bay area and is a favorite Dunedin activity for locals and visitors alike. Over 40 vendors offer products ranging from the usual produce to gluten-free baked goods and clothing. Food trucks line one side of the park with ready-to-eat food. It’s easy to make a day of the market in Dunedin. In the cooler months, the market opens Fridays and Saturdays every week though it scales back to Saturdays only in the summer.
8. Corey Avenue Sunday Market
What’s better than farmers markets on Sunday? A farmers market on St. Pete Beach. The Corey Avenue Market is a weekly, year-round market with 70+ vendors. Shoppers choose from a variety of locally grown or made products, fair trade items, ready-to-eat lunch bites, plants, and more. Just a few blocks from the Gulf of Mexico, this market is the perfect way to kick off a beach morning. Bring a cooler, do your weekly shopping, grab lunch from one of the vendors, and go relax on one of America’s best beaches for families. As perfect as it gets!
9. Seminole Heights Sunday Morning Market
Located in the Seminole Heights neighborhood in Tampa, this Sunday market brings the best fresh and local produce, food, and plants to the community. Other vendors bring food, plants, and unique products such as canned items, live music, and handcrafted soaps. The market is currently only open seasonally from October to June.
10. Market on Main
Another Sunday market, this one is in quaint Safety Harbor across the bay from Tampa. 40+ local vendors an artisans set up along Main Street with live music at the gazebo. Grab breakfast at one of the restaurants downtown, enjoy a free yoga session, and shop products such as produce and flowers, baked goods and honey, pet treats and much more. Like other Florida farmers markets, the Market on Main is closed in August due to the heat.

If you’re looking for farmers’ markets today, and today happens to be during the week, these two markets have you covered. While most farmers’ markets in Tampa (and elsewhere) open only one or two days on the weekend, these two markets open daily. year-round.
11. Sanwa Farmer’s Market
Sanwa Farmer’s Market started as a wholesale market to provide fresh produce and other products to restaurants and similar businesses in the Tampa Bay area. With growing success, Sanwa opened a retail operation and now sells produce, meat, and other grocery items to anyone who walks through the doors. Many of the produce stands and shops in the area source their produce from Sanwa.
12. Tampa Bay Farmers Market
Tampa Bay Farmers Market is a family-owned enterprise that has sold to the public for more than 25 years. Their offerings include farm-fresh produce, cut flowers, potted plants, gifts and more. Unlike most other farmers’ markets in Tampa, this one offers online shopping as well though it’s limited to less perishable items such as honey, jellies, coffee, and gifts.
